Privacy Policy

Effective October 2, 2026 · Last updated October 2, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Senior Living Academy LLC ("SLA," "we," "us") collects, uses, discloses and protects personal information. It covers www.seniorlivingacademy.com, our member portal and community, forms, calls, events, emails and text messages (the "Services"). By using the Services, you acknowledge this Policy. It is part of our Terms of Service and Membership Agreement.

1. Information We Collect

Information you give us:

  • Contact and account details: name, email, phone, mailing address, state, username and password.
  • Purchase information: plan, billing address, and payment details. Card numbers are collected and stored by our payment processor, not by us.
  • Business profile information you choose to share: operating stage, timeline, market, questions.
  • Community posts and messages, call questions, survey responses, testimonials and support requests.
  • Event registration details: emergency contact, dietary or accessibility needs you choose to share.

Information collected automatically:

  • Device and usage data: IP address, browser, device type, pages viewed, links clicked, referring URL, UTM parameters, and dates and times.
  • Email and SMS engagement data: opens, clicks and delivery status.
  • Cookies and similar technologies (Section 5).

Recordings: audio, video, chat and transcripts of calls, coaching sessions and events that we record, with notice (see the Terms).

Information from others: our service providers (for example, payment and scheduling tools), social media platforms when you interact with our pages or groups, and people who refer you.

Information we ask you NOT to send: Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, government ID numbers, and any health information or information that identifies a resident or patient. Please do not post this kind of information in the Community or on forms.

2. How We Use Information

We use personal information to:

  • provide, operate, secure and improve the Services;
  • process payments, renewals and installments, and send renewal reminders and other required notices;
  • respond to inquiries, schedule calls and provide support;
  • send marketing emails, and texts if you consented, about our programs and events;
  • personalize content, and analyze traffic and performance;
  • administer events;
  • detect, prevent and investigate fraud, account sharing, chargebacks, security incidents and violations of our Terms;
  • comply with law, enforce our agreements, and protect our rights and the safety of others; and
  • for any other purpose we disclose when we collect the information, or with your consent.

We may create de-identified or aggregated data and use it for any lawful purpose. We will not attempt to re-identify it.

3. How We Disclose Information

We do not sell personal information for money. We disclose personal information to:

  • Service providers and processors who act on our behalf under contract. These include CRM, email and SMS (for example, GoHighLevel/LeadConnector); payment processing; video conferencing (for example, Zoom); website hosting and security (for example, Cloudflare); scheduling; video hosting; analytics; and professional advisers.
  • Affiliates under common ownership or control with SLA, who are bound by this Policy.
  • Other members, limited to what you choose to post or share in the Community or at events.
  • Legal and safety recipients: to comply with law, subpoenas or legal process; to enforce our Terms, including chargeback disputes and collections; and to protect the rights, property or safety of SLA, our members or others.
  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization or sale of assets, as permitted by law.
  • With your consent, or at your direction.

Mobile information: We do not share or sell mobile phone numbers, SMS opt-in data or SMS consent with any third party or affiliate for their marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with third parties, except service providers that deliver messages on our behalf.

4. Text Messages (SMS) and Email

Text messages: If you opt in to texts, we use your number to send the messages you agreed to receive, under our SMS Program Terms. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP to opt out, or HELP for help. We also honor any other reasonable opt-out request. Consent to marketing texts is never a condition of purchase.

Email: You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in each email. We will still send transactional and legally required messages, such as receipts, renewal reminders, security notices and changes to our terms.

5. Cookies, Pixels and Analytics

We and our service providers use cookies, pixels, tags and similar technologies to operate the site, keep it secure, remember preferences and make our forms, scheduling and checkout work. The technologies currently used on our site are:

  • Strictly necessary: for example, Cloudflare security cookies, and login and session cookies. These cannot be turned off through our site.
  • Forms, scheduling and checkout: GoHighLevel/LeadConnector, which powers our sign-up forms, call scheduling, checkout and member portal. It may set cookies and collect device and usage data (including UTM parameters) to operate those features and to tell us which page or campaign a sign-up came from.
  • Analytics and advertising: We do not currently use Google Analytics, the Meta Pixel or other third-party advertising or retargeting tags. If we add them, we will update this Policy first and provide any opt-out choices the law requires.

Your controls: You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of the site, such as forms and checkout, from working.

Do Not Track: Our site does not respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals, because there is no consistent industry standard for them. If we begin using advertising technologies, we will treat a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as a request to opt out of sale and sharing for that browser, where required by law.

Video: We do not knowingly disclose information identifying the specific videos you watch to advertising platforms.

6. Children

The Services are intended only for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, or sell or share personal information of consumers under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. These include encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, and vendors that maintain recognized security programs. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee security. If a security breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and any required authorities as required by law, including the Illinois Personal Information Protection Act (815 ILCS 530). You are responsible for keeping your password confidential.

8. Data Retention

We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy. Typical periods:

  • Account and membership records: for the life of your account plus 7 years (tax, accounting, chargeback and legal-claim purposes).
  • Records of consent: at least 5 years, or 1 year after your Membership ends, whichever is longer. This covers auto-renewal and clickwrap consent, and SMS and email consent logs.
  • Marketing leads who never purchased: up to 3 years after last interaction.
  • Recordings: for as long as the recording is offered in the Services, or 2 years, whichever is longer.
  • Backups: for limited periods.

We may keep information longer where required by law, or to resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.

9. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, and on whether a state privacy law applies to SLA, you may have the right to:

  • (a) know or access the personal information we hold about you;
  • (b) correct inaccurate information;
  • (c) delete personal information;
  • (d) receive a portable copy;
  • (e) opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, targeted advertising, or certain profiling; and
  • (f) appeal our decision on your request.

State laws that may provide these rights include those of California (CCPA/CPRA), Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, Iowa, Delaware, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Tennessee, Minnesota, Maryland, Nebraska, Indiana, Kentucky and Rhode Island. Many of these laws apply only to businesses that meet revenue or data-volume thresholds. Where a law does not apply to us, we may still consider requests at our discretion.

How to submit a request: Email privacy requests to info@seniorlivingacademy.com with the subject line "Privacy Request."

Verification: We will verify your identity, for example by matching your account email and other details, before fulfilling a request. Authorized agents must provide proof of authorization.

Response time: We respond within the time required by applicable law, generally 45 days, extendable where permitted.

Appeals: If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision with "Appeal" in the subject line. If the appeal is denied, you may contact your state attorney general.

Limits: We may deny or limit a request where the law permits. Examples include information needed to complete a transaction, to detect fraud or security incidents (including account sharing), to comply with legal obligations, or to exercise or defend legal claims (including chargeback disputes and collections).

Non-discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights the law gives you.

California "Shine the Light": We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.

Nevada: We do not sell covered information as defined under Nevada law. Nevada residents may submit an opt-out request to info@seniorlivingacademy.com.

Sensitive information: We do not intend to collect sensitive personal information, and we do not use it to infer characteristics about you.

Biometrics: We do not collect biometric identifiers or biometric information, such as face geometry or voiceprints. If we ever do, we will first provide notice, obtain written consent, and publish a retention policy as required by the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (740 ILCS 14).

10. Health Information Disclaimer

SLA is an education company, not a health care provider, and is not a covered entity under HIPAA. Do not share protected health information or resident-identifying information with us or in the Community. Any such information you post is shared at your own risk, and may be removed.

11. Third-Party Sites and Platforms

The Services link to third-party websites and platforms, such as Facebook groups, YouTube and Zoom. Their own privacy policies apply, and we are not responsible for their practices.

12. Where Information Is Processed

We are based in the United States, and we process information in the United States. The Services are intended for U.S. residents.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy. We will post the updated version with a new "Last updated" date. If changes are material, we will provide notice by email or on the site before they take effect. Material changes apply going forward only.
